Global smartphone brand vivo today announced the launch of its Y81 smartphone which comes with a 6.22-inch 19:9 FullView™ Display and an 88% screen-to-body ratio, allowing users to see more than ever. It also has a 13MP rear camera and Face Access for unlocking the phone in 0.1 second. The Y81 will be available in Black and Gold from Saturday, 15 September at a recommended retail price of $239 (before contract)through telco M1 Limited (M1) and authorised dealers islandwide including Challenger, Gain City, and Newstead Technologies. Customers will also receive a complimentary wireless earpiece with every purchase.

The new Y-series model offers superior performance for multi-tasking and impressive camera capabilities at an affordable price point, making it suitable for users from all walks of life. It sports a 5MP front camera with AI Face Beauty, HDR, and Portrait photography features. It is equipped with an Android 8.1-based Funtouch OS 4.0 operating system and powered by an Octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage (expandable to 256GB). The Y81 also has a Game Mode so users enjoy a distraction free experience with features like a gaming keyboard and blocking of unwanted alerts and calls.

New Generation FullView™ Display

The Y81 improves on previous FullView™ Display with a reduced top bezel; pushing the screen-to-body ratio to 88% and giving users 15.5% more viewing area than standard 16:9 phones. The bezel-less effect also allows for easy operation of the 6.22-inch display - even with one hand.

AI Face Beauty

vivo's new AI Face Beauty detects the gender, age, skin tone, skin texture and even the lighting conditions around users. The Y81's customised beauty enhancement effects are dedicated to emphasising users' unique and natural beauty.

Portrait Mode

Stand out in every photo with Portrait Mode, which blurs the background. Users can also go to the photo album and choose from a range of portrait lighting effects to turn every shot into a work of art.

13MP Rear Camera

The Y81 has a high definition 13MP rear camera which provides super-fast focusing speeds with PDAF technology and allows users to capture even fleeting moments with perfect clarity.

More Power, More Space

The Y81 is powered by 3GB RAM for super smooth performance. Its 32GB of storage can be expanded to 256GB with a microSD Card so users can store more videos and pictures.

Face Access
